Terms of Service

1. The service

Booksyro lets you upload receipts and invoices, sync bank transactions, and generate bookkeeping reports (P&L, VAT, transaction ledgers). We use AI to extract fields, categorise transactions, and flag anomalies. Booksyro is a tool that helps you maintain records — it is not a substitute for advice from a qualified accountant, tax adviser, or lawyer. You are responsible for the accuracy of any filings you make.

2. Your account

• You must be at least 18 and able to enter into a binding contract.
• You must provide accurate information and keep your password confidential.
• You are responsible for everything that happens under your account, including accountants you invite.
• One account per person or legal entity. Sharing credentials is not permitted.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Upload content you do not have the right to process, or that violates law (including tax fraud or money-laundering activity).
• Reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt to bypass rate limits, quotas, or security controls.
• Use the service to build a competing product or to train a third-party AI model on extracted data.
• Upload malware, illegal content, or personal data of others without a lawful basis.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section, with or without notice depending on severity.

4. Plans, billing & trials

• Paid plans renew automatically at the interval shown at checkout until you cancel.
• Prices are shown excluding applicable VAT unless stated otherwise.
• You can cancel anytime from Settings → Plan & billing; access continues to the end of the paid period.
• We do not refund partial periods except where required by law (EU consumers: see your statutory withdrawal rights, which do not apply once digital service performance has begun with your consent).
• Failed payments may result in suspension after a grace period.

5. Your data

You own your data. We process it on your behalf to provide the service, under our Privacy Policy and Data Processing Addendum. You can export all your data at any time from Settings → Account.

6. AI processing

Receipt, invoice, and transaction content is sent to Gemini for extraction, categorisation, and anomaly detection. We instruct providers not to retain your content for training. AI output can be wrong — review categorisations and amounts before relying on them for filings.

7. Third-party services

Bank sync uses Plaid; payments use Stripe; transactional email uses Mailgun. Their terms apply to those parts of the service. See the DPA & subprocessor list.

8. Warranty & liability

The service is provided "as is". We do not warrant uninterrupted availability or that outputs (categorisations, summaries, AI-generated content) are accurate or suitable for any particular purpose. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under mandatory Danish or EU consumer law.

9. Termination

You may close your account at any time from Settings → Account. We may suspend or terminate accounts for breach of these Terms or extended non-payment. On termination, your data is deleted as described in the Privacy Policy.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced in-app or by email at least 14 days before they take effect; continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance. The "Last updated" date above always reflects the current version.

11. Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Denmark. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Danish courts, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection rights you have in your country of residence.
